Tufting is a technique where yarn or thread is pulled through a surface to create loops or piles. This can be seen in activities like rug making, carpet manufacturing, and even some types of textile art. The process involves using a tufting gun and pushing yarn through a material, like fabric or a backing, to create a looped or piled texture on the other side, forming patterns and designs. In this class, you will go through all the steps of creating your own design through tufting!
Tony Sansalone is a current graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working towards a masters in Arts Business. He is a practicing artist and has extensive experience teaching tufting.
