The Union is the home to recreational, cultural, educational, and social opportunities daily. Our student-led programming board, Wisconsin Union Directorate, plans more than 1,000 events within our two buildings and on campus. With 10 committees and 6 Hoofer Clubs, WUD brings thought-provoking activities, stress-reduction, and fun to campus with live music, film, lecture series, political discussion, community service, outdoor activities, and the arts.
Always bustling with activity, plan your Union adventure for a specific event or activity. There is truly something for everyone at the Union.
The Wisconsin Union buildings are home to five gallery spaces with rotating exhibits and a permanent collection found throughout central spaces and meeting rooms.
Outdoor UW, located on the shores of Lake Mendota, is the outlet for outdoor adventure on campus. Get out on the lake with paddle sports, rent a tent for camping or join one of our six Hoofer clubs to stay active all year long.
Wheelhouse Studios, located in the lower level of Memorial Union, invites you to explore your inner artist. Three studio spaces host classes, groups events and are open for drop-in DIY endeavors. From pottery and photography to glasswork, metal work, painting, screenprinting and more, Wheelhouse inspires the artist within.
Sett Recreation, located in Union South, invites you to unwind with a climbing wall, bowling alley, pool tables, and games. There's plenty of room to hang out and watch your favorite sports.
