The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company will bring its dance-theater work “Still/Here” to Shannon Hall at Memorial Union on March 18 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Wisconsin Union Theater’s (WUT’s) 2025–2026 season.

Created three decades ago and recently reimagined for contemporary audiences, “Still/Here” blends dance, spoken word and multimedia elements to explore the themes of resilience, identity and shared humanity. 

Contemporary African music artist Dobet Gnahoré will perform in Memorial Union’s Shannon Hall on March 12 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) season. 

Gnahoré is a vocalist, dancer, songwriter and percussionist from Côte d'Ivoire. Her latest album, “ZouZou,” produced by Momo Wang, also known as Dr. Wang, is a tribute to the children of Africa and is intended as a message of hope for the future. 

The Emmet Cohen Trio and special guests trumpeter Tivon Pennicott and saxophonist Jeremy Pelt will perform “Miles and Coltrane at 100” at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 in Shannon Hall at Memorial Union as part of the Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) Jazz Series.

Created by pianist Emmet Cohen, the program commemorates the 100th birthdays of influential figures in jazz history, Miles Davis and John Coltrane, through new arrangements. 

Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato will join string trio Time for Three on Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hamel Music Center for Joyce DiDonato and Time for Three: "Emily - No Prisoner Be," a Classical Series event presented by the Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) and the Wisconsin Union Directorate Performing Arts Committee.

Award-winning jazz pianist and composer Jason Moran will lead a performance of “James Reese Europe and the Harlem Hellfighters: The Absence of Ruin” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in Shannon Hall at Memorial Union as part of the Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) Jazz Series.

Comedian, writer and producer Mo Amer will bring his comedy to the Wisconsin Union Theater’s (WUT’s) Shannon Hall in Memorial Union on Feb. 25, 2026, at 8 p.m. as part of a UW–Madison students-only show. 

The Wisconsin Union team will host “MLK Celebration: Stone of Hope,” a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. event series, Jan. 27–29. The series features events and activities focused on reflection and dialogue that explore King’s legacy and the relevance of his efforts and words today.

Drawing inspiration from King’s words, “With this faith, we will hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope,” the series invites participants to consider the question: What stones of hope are we carving today?

The Wisconsin Union has released the lineup for the 2026 Winter Carnival, an annual winter-themed event series that will bring more than 30 events to Madison from Feb. 5-7, 2026, in collaboration with campus and community partners. The schedule includes outdoor recreation, live music, bringing a full-scale replica of parts of the Statue of Liberty to a frozen lake, and more.

Through Jan. 19, 2026, the Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) team is accepting applications for the André De Shields Fund, which provides seed grants of $1,000-$3,000 to University of Wisconsin–Madison undergraduate students to develop, design, produce, and perform original artistic works that inspire transformation.
