Rap duo Smif-N-Wessun, comprised of artists Tek and Steele, will bring its popular lyrical style to the Play Circle Theater on Feb. 13, 2025, at 8 p.m., as part of the Wisconsin Union Theater’s (WUT’s) performing arts series, the Black Box Sessions. This event replaces the previously scheduled performance by th1rt3en.
An annual tradition for more than 80 years, the nonprofit Wisconsin Union’s winter-themed event series Winter Carnival returns Feb. 6-9, 2025, with more than 30 events, including bringing Lady Liberty to Lake Mendota and a freestyle skiing and snowboarding competition.

Hip-hop artist Sa-Roc will perform in Madison, Wis., on Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. at the Play Circle Theater in the first event of the Wisconsin Union Theater’s (WUT’s) inaugural Black Box Sessions.
The Wisconsin Union team’s first-ever Terrace chairling plushie, named Maple Fields, has made her debut at the Badger Markets at Memorial Union and Union South and at terracestore.union.wisc.edu.
The Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club will host the 60th Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Resale, Wisconsin’s largest ski swap, in Union South’s Varsity Hall on Dec. 7 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Dec. 8 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Union’s house-made, heat-and-serve Thanksgiving meals, called Thanksgiving To Go, have returned, with online ordering through Nov. 19 at 9 a.m. CDT or while supplies last.
Thanksgiving To Go menu options include chef-created group meals for six people, individual-sized meals, and à la carte add-ons to meal purchases.
The Wisconsin Union team will host a one-night-only winter celebration, called Frosty Feast, on Dec. 7 from 5-8 p.m. at Memorial Union. Frosty Feast will feature holiday and winter-themed music performed by students from the Broadway-style student music and dance ensemble the Wisconsin Singers and other student musicians as well as a house-made, three-course dinner.
Grammy-nominated string quartet PUBLIQuartet will perform its latest program “Rhythm Nation” on Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Union as part of the Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) Classical Series, preceded by a free, open-to-the-public studio class on Nov. 22 at 3 p.m.
The nonprofit Wisconsin Union anticipates that the 2,000 yellow, orange and green Terrace chairs and 431 tables will begin to make their exit from the Union’s outdoor dining and entertainment space, the Memorial Union Terrace, on Oct. 28. This date is subject to change based on multiple factors, such as staffing.
