Acclaimed dancer, actor, choreographer, instructor and Deaf advocate Antoine Hunter, also known as PurpleFireCrow, will present at a free event open to the public on Oct. 7 in Shannon Hall in Memorial Union at 6:30 p.m.

Five-time Grammy winner and music phenomenon esperanza spalding will perform in Madison, Wis., on Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Wisconsin Union Theater’s (WUT’s) Jazz Series.

A new beverage burst into coolers and cafes at nonprofit Wisconsin Union’s locations on campus at UW–Madison with the debut of Sunburst Sparkler, a fruity, caffeinated, sparkling water available in four flavors. 

Returning for its 114th year, University of Wisconsin–Madison Homecoming will take place Oct. 20-26 with a week of fun for students, alumni, UW community members and honorary Badgers alike. Attendees can look forward to time-honored traditions, such as the Wisconsin Homecoming Committee and Wisconsin Union’s downtown Madison parade, as well as the Wisconsin Alumni Association’s (WAA’s) post-parade block party and pep rally. 

The annual tradition, the Madison Jazz Festival, will return to the outdoor dining and entertainment destination the Memorial Union Terrace June 15-16 with free jazz performances presented by the Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) and the Arts + Literature Laboratory.

The Wisconsin Union and Bucky’s Varsity Meats teams have developed and launched a brand-new product, called the Wisconsin Union Beef Snack Sticks, which supports hands-on student learning and leadership opportunities.

Customers can purchase the Wisconsin Union Beef Snack Sticks at the following Wisconsin Union dining locations: Badger Markets in Engineering, Ingraham, Memorial Union, and Union South; Capital Café in Grainger Hall; Carte in Memorial Union; the Chazen Café; and Sett Recreation in Union South.

A limited-edition, Badger Red, mini Terrace chair 175 years in the making — with a sunny lakefront and 175 in its chairback — recently made its debut at Badger Markets at Memorial Union and Union South and in the Online Terrace Store in celebration of the 175th anniversary of the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Summer has almost arrived, and with it, the return of free and low-cost programming on the Memorial Union Terrace — including live music, film screenings, arts opportunities, outdoor recreation and more. 

Bedecked with 2,000 orange, yellow and green sunburst chairs and tables, the Terrace will continue its legacy as Madison’s 40,000-square-foot dining and entertainment destination alongside Lake Mendota. 

The Wisconsin Union’s historic outdoor dining and entertainment destination the Memorial Union Terrace will reopen for the 2024 Terrace season on April 17 with the return of 2,000 green, yellow and orange sunburst chairs and a Wisconsin Union-hosted Opening of the Terrace Party.

The Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) team announced its 2024-2025 season, which includes emerging and renowned artists across many genres as well as a debut series, called the Black Box Sessions. WUT presents its season in partnership and collaboration with the student-led Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) Performing Arts Committee (PAC).
