2026: Survivor Empowerment Fund

A portion of the proceeds from each sale of the 2026 Mini Terrace Chair will be donated to UHS’ Survivor Empowerment Fund, which supports UW–Madison student survivors of sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation and stalking.

The chair features a vivid purple paint, called signal violet. Purple is the nationally recognized color associated with domestic violence awareness and represents courage, peace and dedication to ending violence. The signal violet hue was chosen, in part, to serve as a beacon of support for survivors.

The Wisco Industries team in Oregon, Wisconsin, crafted the chairs and painted them purple after which the Wisconsin Union, including UW–Madison students, hand-painted flecks of teal, making each chair completely unique. Design inspiration was drawn from purple and teal ribbons that are used to raise awareness and support of suicide prevention.
