Pianists may now sign-up to play the Wisconsin Union Theater’s historic Steinway Concert Grand Piano during the Theater’s Open Piano Day on Sept. 22 from 1-4 p.m. in Memorial Union’s Shannon Hall.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Sept. 13 for a Q&A with producer, activist and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actress Stephanie Beatriz in Shannon Hall at Memorial Union on Nov. 7 at 8 p.m.

The Wisconsin Union team will host the Campus Farmers Market Thursdays, which will feature local and organic products, Sept. 5 until Oct. 24 at Union South from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Area vendors will sell their local products during the market outside Union South at the corner of North Orchard Street and West Johnson Street. Featured vendors include Bloom Bake Shop, Chrysalis Pops, Munchkey Apples, Parrfection Produce, Porchlight Products and Savory Accents.

The Theater team is excited to announce the following festival lineup:

Elizabeth Snodgrass will join the Wisconsin Union Theater team as the Theater’s director.

In this position, Snodgrass will lead the Wisconsin Union Theater in its efforts to present, promote and cultivate a lifelong appreciation of the performing arts, especially among University of Wisconsin-Madison students. She will also partner with the student-led Wisconsin Union Directorate Performing Arts Committee, UW-Madison departments and local arts organizations to present quality programming that provides diverse experiences for the community.

Out on the Terrace to be first pride event on the Memorial Union Terrace

The Wisconsin Union will host a pride celebration event on the Memorial Union Terrace, called Out on the Terrace, on Aug. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The celebration will include performances by DJs Saint Saunter and Tony Ritschard, stilt walkers and more.

Summer Serenades brings classical music with a lake view to Madison

Classical music will come to the Memorial Union Terrace select Sundays at 5 p.m. with the return of the Summer Serenades series.

Weekend to include live music, cap-decorating, big sunburst chair photo opportunities

The Wisconsin Union will offer special events and activities as well as photo opportunities to graduating seniors during graduation weekend at Union South and Memorial Union.

The festivities begin on May 9 at 2 p.m. when graduating seniors are invited to decorate their graduation caps at Wheelhouse Studios in Memorial Union’s lower level. Students can also paint with watercolors. Wheelhouse will provide decorations and paint, while supplies last.

The Wisconsin Union team looks forward to the opening of the new Tong Family Marina along the Memorial Union lakefront in early summer 2019. While the previous marina served the Union well for more than 40 years, the soon-to-debut pier system furthers the Union’s commitment to accessibility, while also creating a durable docking system.
