What Is Wisconsin Union Directorate?

The Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) is the 100%-student led board for the Wisconsin Union, bringing you over 1,000 events annually in the Unions and outdoors through Hoofers. With 12 committees ranging from Film to Cuisine, and six outdoor clubs, there is an opportunity for every student to explore their interests, gain a one-of-a-kind leadership experience, and create campus community through every season!

How to Join a WUD Committee?

Join the Wisconsin Union Directorate and become part of a student-led committee that brings ideas, events, and experiences to Union spaces. With 12 committees spanning a variety of interests, there’s an opportunity to find a committee that fits your passions and goals. 

To become a Committee Member, simply attend a meeting! Meeting times can be found on each committee's individual page. 

As a member, you’ll work alongside other students, help plan and execute programs, contribute your ideas, and gain valuable leadership and teamwork experience. Whether you're looking to meet new people, explore your passions, or create campus community, WUD Committee membership is a great place to start!

Lead Your Union: 

WUD Officers and Directors ensure that there are always fun and engaging experiences for campus. These leaders are responsible for organizing committees that plan and promote a diverse array of events and opportunities to enrich the campus and greater Madison community.

Want even more involvement? Join a Union Council subcommittee! All UW-Madison students, staff and faculty members, and alumni are welcome to attend any subcommittee's meetings. Meeting dates and times can be found here.
