Mobile Key Check-In

Learn more about mobile check-in at the Club Suites at Memorial Union

Important Note

It is strongly recommended that first-time guests stop at the Wisconsin Union Hotel front desk at Union South (1308 W. Dayton St.) before heading to Memorial Union (see option 1 below). Speaking with our staff at Union South can make getting oriented to campus much easier for newcomers. 

 

Option 1: Check-In at Union South (Preferred for First-Time Guests)

 

  1. Arrive at 1308 W. Dayton St. at Orchard (the Wisconsin Union Hotel at Union South).
     
  2. Park temporarily in the roundabout at 1308 W. Dayton Street & N. Orchard Street
     
  3. Visit the hotel front desk to:
    • Check in with staff
    • Receive physical keys
    • Get a parking permit and map to Memorial Union
       
  4. Drive to your parking space in UW Lot 6 (H.C. White Garage, 600 N. Park St.) & walk across the street to Memorial Union (800 Langdon St.) to access your room in the Club Suites.

 

 

Option 2: Mobile Key Check-In (Available for Returning Guests)  

Please note: there is no front desk service at Memorial Union — once you arrive, you’ll have the Union (and those beautiful lakeshore views) all to yourself.

 

  1. Any time on the day of your arrival, call our Front Desk at 608-263-2600 to verify your stay and confirm your payment method.
     
  2. When your room is ready, you’ll receive text messages with:
    • A link to download the Wisconsin Union Hotel & Club Suites mobile app, which will contain your digital room key
    • Your Lot 6 parking code
       

  3. Drive directly to your parking space in UW Lot 6 (H.C. White Garage, 600 N. Park St.) & walk across the street to Memorial Union (800 Langdon St.) to access your room in the Club Suites.

     

Parking 

Guest parking for the Club Suites is located in Lot 6 (H.C. White Garage, 600 N. Park St.), directly across from Memorial Union.

  • Enter the garage via the ground-level entrance at 600 N. Park Street.
  • Tap the red keypad option on the screen and enter your five-digit parking code from your text message.

  • After entering the H.C. White Garage, take an immediate right-hand turn. You'll see 6 parking spots designated for hotel guests.

  • The same code can be used throughout your stay for both entry and exit.
  • Parking is valid until 5:00 p.m. on the day of your departure.
Accessing Your Room

After you have received your physical or mobile key, find the Club Suites on the 4th floor in the northeastern corner of Memorial Union. Look for the UW-Madison "W" Crest on the door!

  • If entering Memorial Union from N. Park Street or Langdon Street, take the elevator near the Office of Campus and Visitor Relations desk to floor 4R.
  • If entering Memorial Union near Pete’s Coffee, take that elevator to the 4th floor.
     

When you reach the Club Suites entrance:

  1. Hold your phone close to the door lock.
  2. Tap the lock Key in the OpenKey app to unlock the door.
    1. Note: The same mobile key will open both the exterior access doors and your guest room door.
  3. To share your key, tap the “Share Your Key” button in the bottom-right corner of the app, then enter a phone number.

If your phone battery dies or the app stops working, please call 608-263-2600, and we can bring you a replacement key.

During Your Stay

You can call us anytime during your stay — our front desk at Union South is available 24/7 at 608-263-2600 or directly from your room phone.

Your mobile key will remain active until 11:00 a.m. on the day of your departure, and your parking code will remain valid until 5:00 p.m.
