The Wisconsin Hoofers is one of UW-Madison's oldest and largest student organizations. Started in 1931, Hoofers currently boasts a membership of over 2,000. The purpose is to build a community around specific outdoor activities and to provide instruction in specific activities.

Even though the Wisconsin Hoofers is led by students, any Wisconsin Union member can join a Hoofers club, which creates a unique blend of students and community members enjoying the outdoors together.
