The 89th Annual Student Art Show, sponsored by the WUD Art Committee, is the University of Wisconsin-Madison's longest-running celebration of student artists and a beloved campus tradition. It offers all UW-Madison students the opportunity to enter their work in a competitive juried exhibition.

The mission of the Wisconsin Union Art Collection and Art Program is to cultivate an interest in art among all students, faculty, staff and Union members by making art an integral part of their use of the Wisconsin Union and to encourage and recognize creative endeavors by students.

  • Student ID required for pick-up.
  • If you are picking up works for a fellow artist, you will need to furnish their physical student ID for release of the works.

We encourage undergraduate student artists to also consider submitting their work the the Undergraduate Symposium.  The annual Undergraduate Symposium showcases undergraduate creativity, achievement, research, service-learning and community-based research from all areas of study at UW–Madison including the humanities, fine arts, biological sciences, physical sciences, and social sciences.

The Undergraduate Symposium 2017 has an open call for undergraduate artists, designers, and filmmakers who are interested in presenting an artist talk of their work to the campus and the broader Madison community.

Artist talks are a maximum of 10 minutes in length with a laptop provided.  In addition to the artist talk format, there is also the option of presenting a live performance, as well as film screening option. The event is held at Union South and is open to all undergraduates working in all disciplines.  This is a great opportunity to build your resume and public speaking skills in a professional setting.

Application deadline is March 1, 2017.  If you have additional questions, please contact the Symposium Coordinator by email at ugradsymposium@provost.wisc.edu
