A conversation with Professor Pevehouse and Professor Baker on how President Trumps tariffs are affecting international trade and business

Tariffs remain a hot ticket item on the agenda of both American politicians and the electorate as a whole. This discussion will follow a conversation with Professor Pevehouse, Department Chair of International Relations in the Political Science Department, a Mary Herman Rubenstein Professor, and Professor of International Relations and Political Methodology. His research lies in international relations, international political economy, American foreign policy, international organizations, and political methodology. Professor Pevehouse’s work examines the relationship between domestic and international politics. 

Professor Baker is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Wisconsin and is a Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research is concentrated in empirical finance and macroeconomics and he has taught courses on Venture Capital, Entrepreneurial Finance, and Corporate Finance.

 

Conversing about how President Trumps recent tariffs have affected their respective areas of research, with an open Q&A session at the end of the discussion.
