The Wisconsin Film Festival & WUD Film present a special advance sneak peek of a freewheeling Sundance standout. Set in 1987 Oakland, Freaky Tales is a multi-track mixtape of colorful characters—an NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, teen punks, neo-Nazis, and a debt collector—on a collision course in a fever dream of showdowns and battles. Executive produced by hip-hop pioneer Too $hort, and featuring an all-star ensemble led by Pedro Pascal, this pulpy blend of explosive action, edgy humor, gory kills, and sly twists and turns makes for one wild ride.
“Hella fun… Freaky Tales is a genre-defying riot. Come for the crazy mix tape of circuitously connected plotlines, stay for the joyous explosion of vintage breakdancing on the end credits. Lives up to the title and then some. ” – The Hollywood Reporter

Students attending the screening will have the opportunity to reserve FREE tickets to the upcoming Wisconsin Film Festival, April 3-10! All you need is a Wiscard. Check out the lineup at wifilmfest.eventive.org and come ready to score some tix.
Note to Attendees: Due to high interest in our free advance screenings, the venue will fill to full seating capacity. Once we reach capacity, no additional admissions will be allowed. For this reason, we will be strictly enforcing our "first-come, first-served" policy for these screenings. There will be no saving of seats in the venue or spots in line. If you wish to be seated as a group, all parties must arrive and wait in line together once your entire group is present (we will not allow people to cut ahead in line to meet up with others already waiting). No recording devices are allowed in the venue and all phones must be fully powered down before entering the venue. Security will be in place for this screening. To help us speed up the line, please try to leave backpacks and other large bags at home and fill all available seats in the venue. Coats and bags must be placed under seats, as we will fill every available seat. Thank you for your understanding!
