A discussion breaking down arguments for and against the legalization of marijuana

On 4/20, SoPo will host a discussion in which we will break down the arguments for and against marijuana legalization. Members of the SoPo team will have materials prepared to spark conversation from attendees.

Brownies (100% regular) will also be served to attendees, prepared by Wisconsin Union Catering.

On April 1, 2022, the US House of Representatives passed H.R. 3617, known as the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act, or the MORE Act, which would effectively decriminalize marijuana at the federal level. Since then, there has been significant public attention drawn to the arguments for and against legalization. The purpose of this event is simple: to continue public discussion from the perspectives of students.
