This concert series is designed to give UW–Madison students a much-deserved hour of relaxation and mindfulness in response to the challenges they face every day.
You are invited to come as you are into a calm environment and experience a live musical performance designed to support self-care. You can choose to lie on the floor using provided cushions and pillows or to sit in a chair. A host will guide you through the performance, with gentle reminders and invitations to set an intention, relax your shoulders, take slow breaths, and focus on the present.
Somi, the first African woman to be nominated for a Grammy Award in a Jazz category, shares the gift of her soothing voice, supported by her incredible band, who together bring a sound that is lively yet calming, both joyful and comforting.
Light refreshments will be provided after the concert.
This concert is created in partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute.
The Well-Being Concert series at the Wisconsin Union Theater is funded by Abbott Laboratories in support of advancing student health and well-being.
