Venture into the winter wonderland of Lake Mendota as you hike or snowshoe to the secluded haven of Picnic Point. Gather around a roaring campfire, where the crackling flames set the scene for camaraderie and the creation of delicious s'mores, before embarking back to Memorial Union.
If there is ice and snow:
This hike will begin at Memorial Union and be done on snowshoes across the lake ice (if conditions allow). Outdoor UW will provide snowshoes for each participant.
If there is not stable ice and enough snow:
This hike will begin at the entrance of Picnic Point, and participants will spend more time hiking through the Lakeshore Nature Preserve. Please wear winter boots for this event and dress accordingly.
