Join us for this Inaugural Trailblazer Talk! featuring the iconic star of stage and screen Angelica Ross: acclaimed actress, advocate, and entrepreneur! Miss Ross LIVE is the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center's (GSCC) inaugural Trailblazer Talk, and is in partnership with the Wisconsin Union Directorate Distinguished Lecture Series, along with the UW-Madison Black Cultural Center, UW Gender and Women's Studies, the UW-Madison Division of the Arts, Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), the Center for Cultural Engagement UW-Madison, the Multicultural Student Center at UW-Madison, the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Open House Learning Community UW-Madison, Multicultural Learning Community UW-Madison, Qouncil, the Office of Inclusion Education UW-Madison, and The Studio Learning Community at UW-Madison.
Ms. Ross, a Wisconsinite born and raised, was a series regular in Pose and American Horror Story: 1984 and recently wrapped a stint on Chicago. Angelica is the first openly transgender woman to play a leading role on Broadway. Not only is Miss Ross an actress and advocate, she is also a self-taught computer programmer and entrepreneur. She founded TransTech; a firm that aims to build a pipeline to bring historically underrepresented people into the tech industry.
This event is free and open to the public and will be held in Shannon Hall in Memorial Union. Doors open at 6PM. There will be an audience Q&A following the lecture. CART captioning provided.
