Trombonist, composer, and educator Wycliffe Gordon has earned his place among living legends long after his pioneering work with the Wynton Marsalis Septet. He has appeared on more than 300 recordings; written hundreds of charts, including the theme to NPR’s All Things Considered; performed at legendary venues around the globe; and earned a litany of awards and recognitions from the likes of Downbeat, the Jazz Journalists Association, ASCAP Foundation, and Louis Armstrong House Museum. He brings his signature mix of homage and innovation, virtuosity and musicianship to the Terrace for this free performance closing out the 2026 Madison Jazz Festival.
