Skills learned in this class include use of jeweler’s saw, introduction to bezel setting, use of files and pliers for forming metal, and polishing on buffing wheels. Students must come with their own stone from Burnie’s Rock Shop on E Johnson St, maximum 40x50 mm, minimum 10x20 mm. Mohs hardness 6-7, excluding feldspars (moonstone, labradorite, sunstone). This is a beginner friendly class, no previous metal smithing experience required.
