Wisconsin Union Theater hosts streaming of new piece from artists David Neumann, Marcella Murray and Tei Blow
The Wisconsin Union Theater will host two virtual streaming performances of “Primer for an Impossible Conversation,” an interdisciplinary arts work centering on dialogue about race, followed by a moderated conversation with theater artists and co-creators Marcella Murray, David Neumann and Tei Blow on April 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. CDT.

The Wisconsin Union Theater will stream an online Concert Series performance by the Meccore String Quartet on Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. CDT.
The Quartet will perform the String Quartet No. 21 in D major, K. 575 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, String Quartet No. 3 “Leaves from an Unwritten Diary” by Krzysztof Penderecki, and String Quartet in A minor, Op. 132 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Update: The Wisconsin Union Theater-hosted performance by and question-and-answer session with multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Nicholas Payton has been rescheduled to take place Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. CDT. The Theater team originally scheduled the event for Feb. 19.
Those that purchase tickets to the Feb. 27 performance will also receive on-demand performance and Q&A access through March 6.

Civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump will discuss qualified immunity, working within the justice system, and how storytelling can serve as a tool for change during a free, virtual, live event, called “The Journey to Justice: A Conversation with Ben Crump,” hosted by the Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) Committee on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. CDT.
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Okaidja Afroso believes in bringing together diverse forms of expression to create global harmony. He will bring his genre-defying approach to music to Wisconsin Union Theater patrons during a virtual performance on Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. CDT.
Audience members can enjoy this special solo performance recorded just for the Wisconsin Union Theater audience, which will include Ghanaian music infused with cross-cultural influences.

The Wisconsin Union’s Winter Carnival will return Feb. 3-7 with new events to help attendees enjoy the outdoors during Wisconsin’s winter season while practicing physical distancing and other public health guidance related to COVID-19.
The Wisconsin Union team invites all, including UW-Madison students, staff and faculty, Wisconsin Union members, and guests, to experience the Carnival. Some events and activities require pre-registration and have limited capacities.
