Online ordering for the Wisconsin Union’s house-made heat-and-serve Thanksgiving To Go meals opens Nov. 2 at 9 a.m. at union.wisc.edu/thanksgiving and closes Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. or earlier if menu items sell out. The preordered meals will be available for pickup Nov. 25 on the fourth floor of Memorial Union in front of Great Hall during customers’ selected appointment times.
Thanksgiving To Go includes meals for six, individual meals and items available separately. Anyone can place an order, regardless of University of Wisconsin–Madison affiliation.
The meal for six costs $185 and comes with a choice of bourbon turkey or roasted turkey, turkey gravy, herbed green beans, sage stuffing, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, 12 dinner rolls with butter, cranberry relish and a choice of a whole pumpkin, pecan or fudge bottom pie.
Individual meals cost $20 each for non-student members of the public or $16 for current UW–Madison students paying with Wiscards. Customers can choose an individual meal with roasted turkey with turkey gravy, gingersnap mustard-glazed ham or butternut squash lasagna. Each meal includes herbed green beans, cranberry relish, a dinner roll with butter and a choice of a mini pumpkin, pecan or fudge bottom pie. The turkey and ham meals also include stuffing and mashed potatoes.
Items available separately include turkey gravy, cranberry relish, and whole pecan, pumpkin and fudge bottom pies.
“With Thanksgiving To Go, our culinary team takes care of the cooking and baking, so customers can spend less time preparing Thanksgiving meals and more time enjoying the holiday with the people around their table,” Wisconsin Union Public Relations and Communications Officer Shauna Breneman said. “The meals are made from scratch and ready to heat and serve, whether you’re gathering with a group or ordering for a party of one.”
The nonprofit Wisconsin Union has offered Thanksgiving To Go since 2004. Proceeds from Wisconsin Union dining and hospitality operations help support student leadership programs and academic stipends for student leaders.
