Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club will host the Midwest’s largest ski swap Dec. 5 and 6

Posted: 11/05/26

The Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club will host its 62nd annual Hoofer Ski & Snowboard Resale in Varsity Hall at Union South on Dec. 5 from 8 a.m.  to 5 p.m. and Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The resale is an opportunity to buy discounted outdoor recreation gear and sell gently used outdoor recreation equipment and apparel. Available items will include alpine and nordic skis, snowboards, poles, boots, jackets, helmets and more.

People interested in selling their gear can drop off up to 10 items in Union South on Dec. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Dec. 4 from noon to 8 p.m.

Waxing and tuning for alpine skis, nordic skis and snowboards will be available both days, with prices ranging from $10 to $50 per item.

Resale proceeds will support the Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club and its alpine, nordic and freestyle teams. Customers may make purchases with Discover, Visa or Mastercard credit and debit cards, Wiscard, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash. Tax-deductible donations can also be to the club.

“Resale is the heart and soul of our club, offering students volunteer opportunities where they can bond over their love of snow,” said Ella Pattinson, Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club president. “It makes skiing more accessible for the community through reduced-price gear, and beyond that, for students, as money generated from the sale funds grants and trips, helping give students the opportunity to get out on the hill.”

Anyone 18 or older can join the Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club or any of the five other Wisconsin Hoofers clubs. Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club membership provides opportunities to enjoy winter outdoor recreation, including through weekly local trips and lessons, winter and spring break trips, and a summer trip to ski in Chile.
