Friends and co-hosts Elliot Kalan, Dan McCoy, and Stuart Wellington have been entertaining their fandom of listeners since 2007 with their popular podcast, The Flop House. The trio come together twice a month to celebrate the best of the worst critical and commercial flops in cinema. Together, they watch a recently released terrible movie and record their banter afterward-- unleashing zany, unfiltered hilarity that rings fresh, relatable, and witty as ever. They’re especially known for the crazy tangents that spring out of their conversations.
Flop House was picked by Slate as one of the “25 Best Podcast Episodes Ever,” and was also featured on Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List.” Mccoy is a writer for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, and a multiple Emmy Award-winning writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Kalan is a four-time Emmy Award-winning writer and comedian, most recently employed as the former head writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Their “equally funny” (The Onion A.V. Club) friend Wellington completes the trio.
The show is presented by the Wisconsin Union Theater’s Performing Arts Committee. This program was supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. WORT, 89.9 FM, is the media sponsor.
