At this time, 2025 Commencement Weekend is fully booked.

As we look forward to the 2026 Spring Commencement, we are excited to share information regarding reservations for this special event. 2026 Commencement Weekend bookings will open on May 8, 2025, at 9 AM CDT. To offer a streamlined booking process and accommodate all guests efficiently, we will only be accepting reservations for the 2026 Spring Commencement via our online booking engine.

Graduation day goes fast, and so do our rooms—our limited availability means rooms book up faster than a cap toss at the ceremony! We recommend planning ahead and keeping expectations flexible; snagging a room requires a little luck, but we’re rooting for you!

Please take note of the following requirements for reservations:

Booking Period: Reservations require a 2-night minimum stay for Friday and Saturday nights.
Full Deposit: A full deposit will be required to confirm your reservation. This deposit will be taken 30 days before your scheduled arrival date.

Booking FAQs

No, our online booking engine will show the most up-to-date inventory levels. Reservations will be first come, first served starting at 9 AM on May 8, 2025.
Yes, the room can be split after the reservation has been made. Note that the online reservation will only allow the input of one card. To split the reservation, please contact us at hotel@union.wisc.edu or via phone at (608) 263-2600.
Special event weekends have a 2-night minimum stay, meaning Friday and Saturday are sold as a unit.
A non-refundable deposit for the cost of Friday and Saturday will be taken from the card on file 30 days prior to your stay.

This deposit will not be refunded if cancellation occurs within 30 days of your check-in date.
Our hotel policy allows a maximum of two rooms to be booked per party to ensure fairness and accommodation for all guests. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this guideline.
If you cancel more than 30 days before your stay, there will be no charge. The deposit for the cost of Friday and Saturday will be taken from the card on file 30 days prior to check-in. This deposit will not be refunded if cancellation occurs less than 30 days from check-in.
Kindly note that our hotel extends discounted rates solely to Wisconsin Union Members, which includes current UW–Madison students and their families. Alumni discounts are not applicable.
