The Wisconsin Union Theater team is planning to present virtual fall 2020 season events. We will continue to monitor public health guidelines in planning these and other future events. The format of events taking place in 2021 will be determined with health and safety in mind.
For the most up-to-date list of upcoming Wisconsin Union Theater events, visit uniontheater.wisc.edu. New events will be announced throughout the year, so be sure to check back often! Want to be one of the first to learn of new events? Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and subscribe to our newsletter.
We will provide the option to receive a refund for the cost of your tickets if the team postpones or cancels programming due to COVID-19. In some instances, we may provide a deadline for a refund request. Service fees charged by transaction services with which we work, such as credit card companies, are not refunded to us and are, therefore, not available to be refunded to patrons.
While we are not offering full season subscriptions this year, we appreciate our patrons continued support through event-specific ticket purchases and donations. Campus Arts Ticketing is available for event ticket services by phone at (608) 265-2787 Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or online at artsticketing.wisc.edu. All full-time custodial team members have received training regarding pathogen cleaning, including how to correctly sanitize and clean potential biohazards. The cleaning protocols for Memorial Union and Union South include daily cleaning of high-touch areas, such as doors and sinks. We, together with our facilities team, have also developed thorough cleaning practices for theater spaces, including backstage, dressing rooms, restrooms and our stages, and are investing in ultraviolet cleaning equipment that can quickly and effectively sanitize large spaces.
While we do not yet have a date on which we’ll resume in-person events, we are monitoring changing public health guidelines from state, local and university officials.
There are multiple ways patrons can help ensure the future of Wisconsin Union Theater’s mission of presenting high-quality performing arts, including making a gift to the Theater Director's Fund, which can help support a broad range of priorities, such as high quality and diverse performances, subsidized student tickets, and equipment upgrades. You can also give to the André De Shields Fund, which helps fund performances by under-represented artists in the Wisconsin Union Theater’s season.
