At The Lot : Hilary Nelson

At The Lot : Hilary Nelson

Nelson states, "This work is built from stuff that probably used to be other stuff...now it looks like it could be something you think you know, but you just aren’t sure. At The Lot explores the paradox implicit in the idea of something being “finished”. When does “usefulness” end? Consumption is an illusion: there is only continuum, and each moment is an impossible pit stop at the lot of the infinite."

At The Lot is on view in the Class of 1925 Gallery until Friday, November 15th.

The Fragile Bee : Nancy Macko

The Fragile Bee : Nancy Macko

The Fragile Bee examines the growing plight of the decreasing bee population. A complex issue, Nancy Macko has created thought provoking reminders with her art, of just how pivotal our precious honeybees are to our natural food supply. View her art and consider her message the next time you see a honeybee.

The Fragile Bee is on view in the Main Gallery until Friday, November 15th.

ClimArt: The Art of Wisconsin Climate Change : Abbie Kurtz

ClimArt: The Art of Wisconsin Climate Change : Abbie Kurtz

Kurtz states:

"I cope with the tragedy of climate change through art. Climate change is agonizingly familiar to those of us experiencing and witnessing flooding and other weather extremes. My pieces – Wisconsin climate change maps superimposed on familiar highway maps, yielding attractive abstract forms – combine art’s beauty and frightening reality."

ClimArt: The Art of Wisconsin Climate Change is on view in Gallery 1308 until November 8th.
