A Union for the 21st Century
As we pass the 90th anniversary of Memorial Union and approach a decade of activity in the new Union South, the Wisconsin Union turns a corner. Following ten years of capital improvements and investment, our focus is now squarely on the future –
All of our programs (over 2,000 annually) are student-conceived and student-led. There is no substitute for the learning and growth that occurs when a student leads a committee, produces an event and witnesses their classmates enjoying the fruits of their labor. Our students-first formula has been the magic behind the scenes at the Union since 1928 – and with your support, it will continue to be. The Union is a self-supporting organization, receiving no state tax dollars. All of our student programs are funded through a combination of our self-generated revenue and private support. While it is true the student experience at the Wisconsin Union is unique among our peers, it needs constant support to remain that way.
Today, the Wisconsin Union is well-positioned to meet the ever-increasing needs of the UW-Madison student body; to build a stronger campus community for all; and to inspire a sense of ownership among its members unlike any other union in the country. We have a proud tradition of student excellence at the Union making that a reality – supported in large part through the generosity of our loyal friends and alumni. Please consider being a part of our future and leaving a legacy that matters.
Every day at the Wisconsin Union, students apply what they learn in the classroom to real world circumstances- by working with groups, leading programming efforts, and perhaps most importantly, serving their communities. All skills they gained from their Union experience, and only made possible because of generosity like yours.
Supports the next generation of Wisconsin Union Theater patrons. Your support will help maintain the high quality of Theater seasons and make ticket prices accessible to students.
New piers will improve safety and increase access to all Hoofer watercraft. Your support will help us to improve the safety, accessibility, and utility of the sailing piers and help ensure that the next generation of Hoofers have well-functioning equipment to hone their skills in sailing. A new park and greenspace will complete the multi-year, multi-phase Lakefront Gateway project.
Making a gift to inscribe a brick at the Terrace is a unique way to make a lifetime connection to the Memorial Union while showing support for the Wisconsin Union. Just as your inscription will help preserve your memories of the Terrace and UW-Madison, your donation will support the Wisconsin Union by preserving its many programs for the enjoyment of future generations.
