Why did you join WUD?
Overall, I joined WUD for all of the amazing opportunities to be involved on campus, meet people, and pursue leadership positions that you can only get at the Wisconsin Union. However, most immediately, I joined WUD because I found out that DLS was bringing my favorite author of all time (Margaret Atwood) and I had to be there for it so I hunted them down at the fall org fair and it was a happily ever after.
What made you stay in WUD?
All of the beautiful people. I will admit that WUD, school, and life can all become a little much, but I know I can always count on the people at the Union to support me and help me work out what I need.
What is your favorite part of WUD?
My favorite part is help choose programming! Specifically for DLS, I love getting to brainstorm all the super dope people we can bring and pursuing opportunities to bring them!
What does WUD mean to you?
To me, WUD is a place where I can make mistake after mistake and I will always have someone backing me up to try to help me figure it out. Whether that person is one of my peers or advisors, I am pushed to be a better person and leader.I’m given the space and opportunity to learn by doing and problem solve professionally and that means the world to me.
What would you tell someone who is thinking of joining WUD?
You definitely do not have to have a dedicated interest right away. There are 11 committees for a reason! If you aren’t vibing with DLS, check out SoPo or Global Connections! Music isn’t totally what you are looking for, there is PubCom and Cuisine!
