Collaborations

Each semester, we program several traditional events, but we are always looking for new collaborations! Below are several opportunities for partnership. If any event interests you and your organization could meaningfully contribute to the programming or turnout of the event, please contact us.

Collaboration Opportunities

Tunnel of Resilience

This is a one time event on the tentative date of November 19th, 2017. The event aims to recognize different oppressions facing marginalized groups and highlight the resilience of those people across the globe. This is important because it addresses issues on campus, as well as pertinent international issues that students on campus might not be aware of. We hope to provide a learning opportunity to people on campus that have not faced these realities as well as provide a space for minorities to engage in expression of their identities and their histories. In order to make a true and educational impact on the attendees, we hope to collaborate with numerous RSOs. We envision the event to have a museum-like atmosphere where the attendees will have an interactive experience at each station associated with an RSO. If you are interested or have questions feel free to email fbhuiyan@wisc.edu.

Flavors of the World

The Flavors of the World is made up of four events throughout the year that are focused on the connection between cultures and their food. The events will include samples of food, as well as educational components. Each of the four events will be themed based on a region or culture. Collaboration would include contributing to menu decisions, and making and presenting a presentation that touched on the recipes and history of the food and the country/culture. Benefits would include attracting more interested members to your organization, as well as expanding your collaboration efforts with Union organizations.

Free Art Fridays

Free Art Fridays by Wheelhouse Studios is an event that happens once a month on a Friday that provides free art programming. There are craft tables, ceramic lessons, and our culinary aspect. This will be set up almost exactly like our culinary series (samples of food incorporated into a presentation on the recipes and history of the food; also opportunity for other cultural presentations/performances). Your collaboration would include having a presentation about the food and the country/culture. Benefits would include attracting more interested members to your organization, as well as expanding your collaboration efforts with Union organizations.

Afternoon Conversation Series

The Afternoon Conversation Series is a facilitated experience where you can engage in friendly conversations over different interactive themes presented each week. FREE refreshments are provided while you enjoy learning about diverse cultures and practicing your conversational skills. Your collaboration would include presenting and facilitating the conversation.

I'd like to collaborate, now what?

We are always open to new ideas. Even if one of these options doesn't work for you, please contact the WUD Global Connections Director at globalconnections@union.wisc.edu to begin discussing an event collaboration.
