Directress Film Festival: Girls Just Wanna Make Film

The Directress Film Festival: Girls Just Wanna Make Film took place in March 2017. A weekend-long showcase, this festival highlighted the best of recent independent, international, and documentary cinema directed by women. The festival lineup featured new independent documentaries and narratives making their Madison premieres, as well as recently released films that have not yet screened on campus. In addition, the festival highlighted a 35mm screening of Anna Biller’s The Love Witch.

Marquee Film Festival

WUD Film's annual Marquee Film Festival was held in November 2016 to showcase the best of recent independent, international, and documentary cinema. The festival lineup featured new independent documentaries and narratives making their Madison premieres, as well as recently released films that had not yet screened on campus. In addition, the festival highlighted a brand new restoration of Ousmane Sembene’s Black Girl to celebrate the film's 50th anniversary.

 

These events are intended for UW-Madison students, faculty, staff and Union members and guests.
