Wisconsin Union lifetime members now number more than 112,000. Within the Wisconsin Union Association, the committee, called the Wisconsin Union Membership Engagement Committee (Membership Committee), focuses on engaging lifetime members and recruiting new lifetime members.
With four meetings held so far this year, the Committee has already helped implement many efforts in collaboration with Union Membership Manager Dawn Dever. Here are some ways Dawn and the Committee are helping fuel membership sales.
- Holiday membership sale: What’s better than Wisconsin Union membership? A discounted Wisconsin Union membership. For part of this holiday season, the Union team offered a 20 percent discount on a new membership. An advertisement for the sale had reached 8,000 views by early November. Final sales total are not yet available for this promotion.
- Partners: The Wisconsin Union has formed partnerships with two Madison area companies: American Family and Epic Systems. Each company is marketing discounted Wisconsin Union lifetime membership on their employee benefits webpages. With a combined total of more than 20,000 employees, these new relationships mean strong potential for future membership sales growth.
- Strategic communication: Committee members and Union membership leaders recognize that communicating the importance of Wisconsin Union membership should not only occur around graduation; the Union should communicate membership benefits many times throughout students’ time at UW-Madison. It is a valuable message for current students, so they can make the most of their membership. It is a valuable message for students’ guardians, so they can plan their visits to campus and support students in their Union involvement. Members of the donor relations team are creating an integrated marketing communications campaign with all of this in mind. The team looks forward to consultation from the Membership Committee on various aspects of this plan.
“The committee has been very supportive of efforts to increase lifetime membership sales,” Wisconsin Union Membership Manager Dawn Dever said.
