Why is Social Justice important to you?
The contrasts of growing up in a very socioeconomically and racially diverse neighborhood, but attending a majority white and wealthy high school exposed me to the immense disparities in our country. My experiences have made me passionate about social justice, understanding privilege and breaking down systems of oppression.
What do you hope to help achieve as part of the Social Justice Hub?
I hope to work with community members, students, faculty, and staff to create a campus that is aware of privilege, collaboratively fights for social justice, uplifts the voices of marginalized folks and learns from one another.
What is your go-to karaoke song?
My all-time favorite karaoke song is "No Scrubs" by Destiny's Child.
