In 1931, Harold C. Bradley, Porter Butts, and a small group of students established the Wisconsin Hoofers. Eight decades later, as one of the largest and most active collegiate outdoor recreation programs in the country, Hoofers are looking to the future and need your help in the following areas:

Lakefront Pier and Marina Project

Lakefront Pier and Marina Project

New piers will improve safety and increase access to all Hoofer watercraft. Your support will help us to improve the safety, accessibility, and utility of the sailing piers and help ensure that the next generation of Hoofers have well-functioning equipment to hone their skills in sailing. A new park and greenspace will complete the multi-year, multi-phase Lakefront Gateway project. Learn more about the project.

Field Leader Training

Field Leader Training

Provide all trip leaders with the necessary training to safely and proficiently lead trips according to the type of trip and level of risk. Your support will enable student trip leaders to obtain necessary field safety and risk management training as well as activity-specific certifications at a reasonable fee.

Competitive Team Support: Sailing Team

The Sailing team is one of Madison's most treasured sports and clubs. With students from across the nation, this team allows athletes to attain skills, train, and compete. Your support will allow our sailing athletes to continue in their competition against other high-caliber athletes.

The Alpine competitive ski team here at UW-Madison allows Alpine skiers to participate at a competitive level in this sport through a club program,an opportunity that doesn't present itself at many schools. Your support will allow our Alpine athletes to continue in their competition against other high-caliber athletes.

The Equestrian competitive team is home to young equine ambassadors, competitively trained horses, and students with multi-talented Western and English riding skills. Your support will allow the athletes on the Equestrian team to continue in their competition against other high-caliber athletes.
