Exhibition opening for Traversing Medium and Re-appropriating Motifs in Contemporary Art by Xiaohong Zhang. Please join us for a conversation and an evening celebrating art on the University of Wisconsin’s campus.
Xiaohong Zhang's diverse cultural background and 1990s art training, spanning fine art and graphic design, deeply shape her approach. Since 1999, she employs 2D and 3D software to create politically themed pieces like "China and U.S.", "Tumult ". Her focus expands from personal narratives to examining cultural dynamics between China and the U.S., fostering a balanced East-meets-West perspective for critical engagement.
Explore working with a pottery wheel and learn the basics of working with clay. Each class comes with 12.5 lbs. of clay as well as free use of the open-studios during and two weeks after the class!
