“School isn’t for everyone, especially for those with exceptional talent,” said Bryan Zawlovki, Editor-in-Chief at Elevator. “St Louis’ Matty Wood$ , “Might just be one of those exceptionally talented people.” Over the last few years, Matty has carved out his spot in the Midwest rap scene, racking up over 45+ million streams with the successful independent release of a few singles including SUNDAY, KELSO, DRUGS ON ME pt. 2, Goodmorning, & I'll be Fine. As well as projects including, Backwood Bandit EP, DopeBoy, The Revenge of Tony T EP, Foreverfaded EP, I’ll be fine, TMMOTT, SORRY4THEWEIGHT, & most recently AUTOTONE. With an immense work ethic, he has quickly built a consistent catalog that showcases both his lyrical ability and captivating melodies. In preparation for his upcoming mixtape, Matty has written and recorded hundreds of songs between his home studio in St. Louis , “The Spot” studio in Los Angeles, The Red room in Los Angeles, and multiple privately owned studios in Atlanta and Chicago. He has grown his following and fanbase immensely over the past 3 years amid a global pandemic by being consistent in all areas and staying true to his sound that resonates with his definitive core fan base that only continues to grow as he grows and ultimately, as time elapses.
