Vox Sambou, who has branded himself “the voice without borders,” was born in Limbé, Haiti. Described as a “sharp-witted lyricist and a charismatic showman” (Afrobeat.com), Sambou’s sound reflects his Haitian roots combining reggae, Afrobeat, Latin music, and danceable jazz. He now lives in Canada.
In addition to music, Sambou is still very involved in the Limbé community as a founding member of Solid’Ayiti. This group is comprised of artists and activists working for a long-term solidarity between Montreal and movements fighting for social justice in Haiti, following principles of self-sufficiency, education, decentralization and reforestation.
