France, Germany, Japan | 101 min | NR | 35mm | Dir. Claire Denis
When American newlyweds Shane and June travel to Paris for their honeymoon, their lives take an unexpected, bloody, turn. Relating to previous scientific experiments Shane had done in the tropics, he's faced with a strange disease of the brain that he must find a cure for. In the mean time, a lingering sense of dread mingled with sexuality hangs over the proceedings. Coming off of the massive critical success "Beau Travail", Claire Denis's "Trouble Every Day" now can be remembered for its alluring sexuality and upsetting violence.
