Polish. Poise. Power. That's what Tonya Sloans is all about. Tonya is a UW Law School alumna who has developed her own tips, tools and strategies to propel people towards maximizing their career potential. With a wide breadth of expertise in both the business and law fields, Tonya is an incredibly successful entrepreneur. She is a 2016 recipient of the "Forward Under 40" award from the University of Wisconsin and she was named a business leader by Ebony magazine. Tonya currently sits on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ethics and teaches at Trinity Washington College. She has quite the repertoire.
Tonya is also the founder of PowerWoman Enterprise, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of women by providing resources to help them achieve their full career potential. Most shockingly, she is a survivor of ovarian cancer. Her struggle with such a daunting diagnosis helped to mold her into the strong woman she is today. With her wide range of law and business experience, paired with her life struggles (from unemployment to cancer), Tonya knows how to motivate others and help them reach their potential.
Tonya's personal mission is to help individuals maximize their career potential and become power performers in the marketplace. If you're interested in learning more about her life, the success she's found in her many endeavors, and how you can follow in her footsteps, please join us in the Memorial Union Play Circle at 7:30PM on Tuesday, April 19th.
