An official Marquee International Film Festival selection
Kenya | South Africa | 60 min | DCP | Dir. Jim Chuchu and NEST Collective
Created by the members of a Nairobi-based arts collective — who have removed their names from the film for fear of reprisal — this anthology film dramatizes 5 true stories from Kenya’s LGBTQ community. The stories include a schoolgirl being suspended for her relationship with a fellow female student, a young man eager to explore his sexuality at an underground gay club in Nairobi, and the difficult relationship of a gay man in love with his understanding but confused straight friend.
"This is a beautiful little film about love, about humanity, about one of the many facets of what it means to be African."- Indiewire - Winner of the Teddy Jury Award at the Berlinale Film Festival
