Social Justice Hub Criminal Justice Team Kickoff Meeting

Other
Wednesday, February 5
5:30 - 6:30 pm
Union South | Social Justice Hub
Cost: Free
Come learn about the new CJ Team, help us begin brainstorming projects for the Team, and get involved!

The Wisconsin Union Social Justice Hub is launching a new Action Team called the Criminal Justice Team. We will be hosting a kickoff in the Social Justice Hub to begin preliminary discussions about the team and to give students the opportunity to talk to other students who share an interest in criminal justice reform.

At the kickoff, we will discuss the purpose and goals of the Team and begin brainstorming ideas for future events and projects. Examples of what the Team may choose to work on include visiting and/or volunteering at local CJS-related facilities, hosting speakers or panels to give educational talks on campus, and advocating for the rights of individuals who have come into contact with the CJS. Team members will discuss focus issues to work on, but students are invited to pursue whatever social justice-related issues in the CJS they are passionate about through the Criminal Justice Team. Come meet fellow students who are interested in working to make the criminal justice system better, have your ideas heard, and learn how you can get involved!

Please email socialjustice@union.wisc.edu with questions or concerns. If you are interested but can't make it to the kickoff, send us an email to be added to the email list so you can stay in the loop! You can also visit our website which will be updated as the Team develops.
