The Skatalites have been together since 1964, when ska emerged. The band became the go-to backing instrumentalists working with the developing artists of the day, including Toots and The Maytals, Prince Buster and “The Wailing Wailers” featuring Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer.
The Skatalites have toured the globe, bringing their infectious rhythms to every corner of the world. The band has experienced many lineup changes over the past 50 years, with some of its original members now gone. However, it still features some of the original members, including original vocalist Doreen Shaffer.
