USA | 103 min | Unrated | Blu-ray | Dir. Stanley Donen, Gene Kelly
Set in 1927, following the success of The Jazz Singer, the studio Monumental Pictures knows it needs to make the move toward "talking pictures." They plan to do so with their stars Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) and Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen). Lina has confused her on-screen romance with Don for actual love and Don doesn't reciprocate. On top of that she won't let anything stand in her way to fame despite the fact that her voice isn't fit for talkies. Don takes on Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds) to dub over Lina's voice and save the film. Kathy becomes his off-screen romance, but will she make it onto the big screen despite Lina's relentless attitude?
