Join us as David Kopel ,John Davenport and Angela Stroud discuss the future of concealed carry in America.

David Kopel (Sturm College of Law, University of Denver) is an American author, attorney, political science researcher, gun rights advocate, and contributing editor to several publications.

He is currently Research Director of the Independence Institute in Golden, Colorado, Associate Policy Analyst at the Cato Institute, contributor to the National Review magazine and Volokh Conspiracy legal blog. Previously he was Adjunct Professor of Law, New York University, and Former Assistant Attorney General for Colorado.

Angela Stroud is an assistant professor of sociology and social justice at Northland College and author of the book Good Guys with Guns.

Stroud's work goes beyond the existing literature on guns in American culture, most of which concentrates on the effects of the gun lobby on public policy and perception. Focusing on how respondents view the world around them, this book demonstrates that the value gun owners place on their firearms is an expression of their sense of self and how they see their social environment.

Hosted in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin Center for Study of Liberal Democracy, Society & Politics invites you to explore Self-Defense & the Public Interest: The Future of Concealed Carry in America
