Pop Culture and Politics with Kara Brown

  • kara brown

To kickoff women's history month, WUD Society & Politics in collaboration with the Multicultural Student Center and Black Cultural Center are thrilled to welcome writer and podcaster, Kara Brown, to campus! Kara Brown is currently a co-host of Crooked Media's Keep It podcast which discusses the intersection of pop culture and politics. She formerly wrote for the sitcom grown-ish and was a senior writer at Jezebel where she covered all things race and culture, often entertaining readers with her sense of humor. In 2018 she was named one of Forbes Magazine's 30 under 30 in Hollywood and Entertainment. Join us for a fun night of discussion on pop culture and politics with Kara Brown on Friday, March 1st at 7 PM in Varsity Hall 1 and 2 at Union South. The discussion will be followed by a moderated Q & A. Attendance is Limited to UW-System Students, Faculty, and Staff; as well as Wisconsin Union Members.
