Explore the most painterly printmaking process, monotype! Learn reductive and additive mark-making techniques using a variety of tools and materials to create atmospheric, abstracted images. Experiment with color, a range of material applications, and collage elements as chine- collé to create subtle passages of color or tonal backdrops for the printed image. In this course, you will print with the printmaking press as well as by hand, learn about traditional chine-collé paper and adhesives, and become familiar with the printmaking process. Course fee includes all supplies except what you would ultimately like to print on.
In the Acrylic course, students will learn color mixing, blending, working with perspective and shadows, and basic composition skills.
Explore working with a pottery wheel and learn the basics of working with clay. Each class comes with 12.5 lbs. of clay as well as free use of the open-studios during and two weeks after the class!
