Two days of great music from around the globe at Wisconsin Union Theater and Willy Street Fair.

The 12th Annual Madison World Music Fest gets underway with two days of great music from around the globe.  Artists performing music from Niger, South Korea, Algeria, Cuba, Ethiopia and Georgia are set to transport audiences to new worlds. The festival has a unique selection of music for everyone to explore, sample and appreciate.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

From Algeria to Ethiopia, South Korea to Cuba and beyond, the 12th Annual Madison World Music Festival has many styles and groups to explore and enjoy, each bringing something unique to the table. Zedashe provides polyphonic folk music accompanied by traditional dance while Fanfarai's upbeat sound is a mix of a brass band and Algerian Rai. Sierra Maestra revives the classic style of Cuban son and Tal National draws from West African classic elements. Ethiopian/Israeli Ester Rada brings a mix of traditional, soul and funk styles and the South Korean 숨[suːm] plays traditional music on traditional instruments. Expect to be surprised and impressed!
