Lúnasa is a headliner for the Madison Celtic Music Festival.
With a quarter of a million albums sold and seven award-winning studio albums, the Irish folk band Lúnasa has revolutionized contemporary Celtic music. Since it formed in 1997, the band has performed over 1,500 shows in 36 countries. Lúnasa is composed of Kevin Crawford (flutes, low whistles and tin whistles), Trevor Hutchinson (double bass), Ed Boyd (guitar), Seán Smyth (fiddle and low whistle) and Cillian Vallely (uilleann pipes and low whistles). Their blend of intelligence, innovation, virtuosity, and passion has catapulted them to the forefront of Celtic Music.
“Jaunty jigs, melancholy melodies, mad passion, soft beauty. A wall of sound created by traditional Irish acoustic instruments enhanced by the restrained, but not understated, playing of the orchestra.” – International Review of Music
