Lebanon | 54 min | DCP | Dir. Akram Zaatari
In 1982, amidst violent attacks in Lebanon from Israeli forces, filmmaker Akram Zaatari heard a rumor about a supposed bomber pilot who had refused to follow orders to bomb a school Zaatari's father had founded, instead dropping his bombs in the ocean. Though the school was eventually severely damaged amidst other attacks, Zaatari held this story close and eventually learned the identity of the man who had refused, and set out to make a film to give both the pilot and school-goers a "human face". Zaatari's 2013 film will be accompanied by two other shorts of his, VIDEO IN FIVE MOVEMENTS and NATURE MORTE, both from 2008.
