Explore leadership skills essential to being an effective outdoor trip leader with an Outdoor Explorer Series course.

This training will examine 7 leadership skills essential to being an effective outdoor trip leader, explore the 4 leadership roles, and identify each participant’s default style/preference while they serve as a trip leader. The goal of this training is to round out each trip leader's awareness of their leadership style and provide some language to speak about leading more effectively.   

Upon completion of this class, participants will:

  • Learn about the 4 leadership roles and how to move between them.
  • Identify their signature/default leadership style 
    • discover the strengths/weaknesses of that style
    • how to work with leaders with different styles
