La Dame Blanche

Music
Saturday, September 15
9 pm
Cost: Free
Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist delivers compelling fusion of cumbia, dancehall, hip-hop, and more.

Singer, rapper, flutist, and eminently cool human being La Dame Blanche bridges the gap between countless musical universes with unparalleled style. Born in Havana to a family of musicians, La Dame Blanche applies Cuba’s oldest form of dance music, cumbia, to seemingly disparate newer genres of electronic music like dancehall, house and hip-hop.

The result is an unprecedented melting pot of musical styles old and new—heavy enough to fit snugly in any modern nightclub, inventive enough to excite anyone interested in the shape of world music in the age of globalization.

More information can be found on her website.
